Debbie’s Got Class (Pilot)

April 2nd, 2010

Middleton High School is desperate for a new Home Ec teacher. After being shamefully forced to leave her padded lifestyle, Debbie Little is desperate for her first job. Based entirely on her gender, shell-shocked Principal Pinman hires Debbie on the spot. The only trouble is, Debbie is more used to dry martinis and gossip rags, rather than dry soap and dish rags. When Debbie is immediately thrust into the world of Home Ec her ineptitude on the subject of homemaking is as clear as Tupperware – the only thing in the room Debbie is familiar with.  Things could not be worse until Betty, the domestic goddess in charge of the cheerleading team, informs her that on top of teaching her class, Debbie must organize the most important bake sale of the year. With the clock ticking and the odds against her, Debbie must pull off the impossible using the only skills she knows.

“Debbie’s Got Reefer”

The atmosphere is stressful as the Middleton High School students and faculty await the results of the Middleton Times-Gezett’s “Blue Ribbon Award”. In an effort to lighten the mood and teach her students the art of party etiquette, Debbie decides to go off curriculum and throw a party! The plan backfires when a tray of brownies with questionable origins causes the students to act… funny.  It doesn’t take long for Debbie to realize the only reasonable conclusion: communists! It is soon clear that Debbie is the only sane person left, as she discovers she is the only one left at the school who hasn’t munched the insidious treat.  Tension is especially high when guest speaker Officer Cop shows up to the dazed and confused Home Ec room. It’s up to Debbie to find a way to get her class, and the school, under control or risk losing her job, the Blue Ribbon Award, and possible incarceration.
